Football, celebrities, and charity are once again joining forces as WeDo Business Services sponsors the Manchester Remembers Legends versus Celebrities football match, taking place Sunday, 7th of May at Boundary Park, Oldham.

The event promises to be an unforgettable experience, with an impressive line-up of star players, including boxing legend Ricky Hatton, comedian Jason Manford, and former Olympic sprinter Dwain Chambers, alongside legendary former England internationals Nicky Butt, Wes Brown, and Trevor Sinclair and many more.

The match is in aid of five charities set up following the Manchester Arena terror attack in 2017. Proceeds will go towards education and support for young people, those affected by the loss of a child, and memorials for those lost in the tragedy. Last year’s game raised over £80,000 for these charities.

WeDo Group CEO Mark Lindsay expressed his pride in supporting this special event once again: “As a group, we support numerous local and national charities, and it’s amazing to be able to play a small part in honouring the victims of the Manchester Arena attack.” The game, taking place over the Coronation bank holiday weekend, offers an ideal opportunity for people to come together and support these fantastic causes while enjoying time with friends and family.

The event will begin at 1pm with live performances by Hunter & the Wolves, a band whose frontman Lee Hunter’s sister Lisa died in the Arena attack, and Courtbetweeners, a Courteeners tribute band. Happy Mondays’ Rowetta will sing as the teams run out.

Tickets for the match are available here: oldhamathletic.co.uk/tickets/manchester-remembers, costing £10 for adults and £5 for under-18s.
