In 2019, we founded WeDo: Finance with a vision for approaching finance differently.
Since then, we’ve built the WeDo: Business Services group from 4 to 100 employees in offices across the UK. It’s been an incredible journey, and we’re proud that our work to-date has secured us our first ever award win.
About the awards
At TheBusinessDesk.com’s North West Business Masters Awards ceremony, held at The Midland Hotel, we were honoured to win the award against some impressive competition in the Finance Provider category. The other finalists were Bridging Finance Solutions, OakNorth Bank and Praetura Group.
The awards were judged not on size, but on impact. The judges were looking for dynamic and progressive organisations who are involved in the business community. Due to the challenges the pandemic presented for businesses, they weren’t just looking for financial results, but for entrants to demonstrate innovation, resilience and teamwork.
A milestone for the WeDo: Business Services group
Though the award was in the Finance Provider category, it is a win for the whole Group – spanning HR, Digital, Accountancy, and more. Our entry told our story so far: each division of the Group was established to further our mission to help businesses grow and succeed, with a values-driven approach.
We started off as a finance provider, but our vision was always to be more than a funder. We want to be there every step of the way, to form lasting partnerships, and to support our clients with all the challenges they face.
It was a great event, featuring guest speakers and the opportunity to meet all the other finalists and sponsors. Most importantly, the team were able to be there to celebrate their hard work over the last three years. This is an acknowledgement of their continued dedication, and every single member of the team across the Group has contributed in some part.
We look forward to continuing the celebrations at our Christmas party soon. This is set to be a very special event – after several years of growth and lockdowns, we’ll bring the full team together in-person for the first time.
