Kelly Tighe joined WeDo back in August 2019, so she really is part of the WeDo family and journey. With a career in finance spreading over 25 years, it’s clear to see why Kelly is held in such high regard both within our business and our industry. We caught up with Kelly to find out about life at WeDo. 

How did you find out about WeDo and what made you join?

I have known and worked with WeDo’s MD, Mark Lindsay, for many years in previous businesses and stayed connected. We have similar perspectives on business and how to treat clients and staff, when I heard Mark was setting up WeDo Finance, I knew I wanted to be a part of the team. Then, when the opportunity arose, I did not hesitate. I was the first employee of WeDo Finance and have not looked back since!

What is your background?

I started as a Credit Controller within the Invoice Finance industry over 25 years ago. Throughout my career,  I have worked for independents and banks in various operations roles within operations. I have experience in Invoice Finance and Asset Based Lending (ABL) dealing with various size businesses and facilities. 

What is a typical day in your role?

There is no typical day and that is what I love! You never know what the day will bring – every day is different. WeDo is a growing business and that brings its challenges but we are a close-knit team. We all work together to solve any problem, overcome any challenge and work together to ensure we provide the best service we can to our clients. No matter what the day brings, you can always guarantee lots of laughter and there are always plenty of biscuits and sweets to get us through!

What future do you see for you at WeDo?

I look forward to continuing to help grow the business, to help, support and develop our staff. I will always try to do the right thing for the business, our staff, and clients and, most importantly, carry on having fun.

If I can do all those things, it will hopefully mean the team will enjoy what they do and feel valued by the business. In turn, this means our clients continue to receive the best service we can provide. I look forward to many more years being a part of the WeDo family.

What do you do outside of work?

This is the dreaded question where you feel you need to put something exciting such as climbing mountains or running marathons… but honestly, I just enjoy spending time with family and friends. I am partial to a bit of retail therapy and I love watching live music, but my favourite pastime is cooking and catching up over a few glasses of wine with friends and family!

How would you describe WeDo?

Cliché I know, but we are a family – we care about each other, the business, and our clients. We always thrive to do the right thing. We are a fun business to be part of and have clear values and morals to which we all adhere to.
