2020 was a difficult year for many of us and 2021 hasn’t been plain-sailing either. We’ve endured a lot, and the light is finally seeming closer at the end of the tunnel.

It’s time to focus on the positives, and I wanted to share the story of WeDo over the last year. We’ve grown, adapted, listened and shared. Here are just some of the highlights:

  • We doubled the size of our team, bringing in expertise and experience from a variety of sectors and businesses.
  • We listened to our customers and created WeDo HR Support and WeDo Trade Finance.
  • We supported 16 charities.
  • We have funded over £200million of client turnover.
  • We are supporting over 1000 customers trading with our facilities.
  • We are now an APSCo Trusted Partner, showing our dedication and passion to supporting the recruitment industry.

As the economy looks to recover, we often see new start businesses leading the way and WeDo have seen a number of these in the last 12 months. The problem is, they have the idea and contacts but often lack the confidence, financial support or business resources to get the idea moving. Well, that’s the bit we love! Our new hive, WeDo Recruitment Investments, gives those people a chance to go it alone. We provide funding, full back office support, a CRM system, insurances and legal contract support. We can even guide you through opening up a new bank account and setting up your website!

2021 has already seen a raft of new clients who we are very excited to be working with and the WeDo team are looking forward to the rest of the year!

When I reflect and review like this, I always come back to Barry the Bee.  Barry was developed by Client Service Manager, Holly McDade, and Take On Manager, Olivia Nolan. They wanted to create a concept and character that embodies everything WeDo wants to achieve and how we work.

  • Bees work together to survive, without ego or selfish ideas, they are strong together. There is total transparency within the hive and all Bees come together for a collective goal.
  • Bees communicate incredibly effectively. Ok, so I don’t have the teams dancing or giving off pheromones to speak to each other, but the principle is the same!
  • Bees adapt to their surroundings; they find a problem and they make changes to correct it!

Barry just made sense to us, the teamwork, the worker bee, the collective goal and the fact that we can strive to make our hive a better place to be.

So, the hive is buzzing and our bees are smiling. WeDo think 2021 will be a good year! What do you think? Tell us your own success stories.
